Ludington

A couple of years ago, we took a trip to Ludington, Michigan. Ludington is on the west side of the state along the shores of Lake Michigan. It was just a long weekend, but, wow, did it make an impression on us!

I could stand along the shores of Lake Michigan for hours, it’s so beautiful! The beaches are amazing! Ludington State Park is gorgeous. We didn’t stay there, but we visited a few times while we were there. We spent time on the beach there, and also walked along the beach for a couple of miles to see Big Sable Point lighthouse. It was definitely worth the  walk! We even climbed to the top! What a view!

Sunset along Lake Michigan is breathtaking! I had my camera, and we went to Stearns Park to get some sunset shots. We were not disappointed. We watched the big orange ball sink into the water and it was simply amazing!

Of course, we had to hit the shops while we were there. There was a sidewalk sale going on the weekend we were there, and there were lots of good deals!

There are many great place to eat in Ludington as well. Jamesport Brewing Company was one of our favorites. And, of course, a trip to Ludington would not be complete without a stop at House of Flavors. We waited in a line that stretched out the door to get delicious ice cream. Worth the wait!

We also walked the breakwall at Stearns Park out to the North Breakwater Light. You can’t climb this one, but it’s awesome to see up close. And of course, we got a chance to see the S.S. Badger car ferry come in. That was pretty cool to see!

If you ever get the chance to visit Ludington, you should totally do it!
